I well remember an experience in my school district in the seventies. In addition to the cramming of words, there was occasionally an amusing contribution. We found it particularly great when a student or a student of a teacher beat a trick, here an example from physics: Before the break was our teacher, dutiful as he was, provided the electric motor from its collection. Everything was set up. He went into the break. One student drew near the end of the break the plug from the socket. After some theoretical Statements he called us forward. Excited as we watched our teacher in great anticipation turned the switch. But oh dear, nothing happened. The professor started out in amazement and bewilderment to examine the engine. First, he lifted the cover, then he examined each connection. In that time, the individual parts of the engine with thick and thin cables were wired. His astonishment rose from solder joint to solder joint. Since we could not hold back. The first began to giggle, to the whole class burst into laughter. Finally rescued a classmate of our teachers.
The situation would have been different, would not it be embarrassing to our teachers been to be the victim of a prank. This meant that he himself did not respond, but was rescued by a student. Embarrassingly, the situation could be, because in the minds of the then education was a clear gap between the knowing teacher and the ignorant students. So it was hard to cope for a teacher to be taken in by students. It was unsuccessful in his mind admitting the students in this situation to be. So here he was the ignorant and the students who have knowledge, which was contrary to what was then teaching. In later years, blurring the difference and the school became a learning community. The interests and expectations of students were involved in group work.
until after high school I met the self-organized learning. In this form of learning of individual students is the most active part in the learning process. He is no longer the front of the teacher delivered instruction, interrupted only by some group work. Instead, the lecturer is age appropriate with the learner objectives. These include not only the mind, this is the ability to use his knowledge to himself and to develop solutions. After defining the goals clarified, the teacher, the time interval in which the students are to achieve their goals. An important part is the way to it, which methods they can use in order to target to go? This learning path enables the students to independently acquire knowledge and skills and later use. The teacher becomes a coach, an adviser. This newly developed form of teaching, begins today, often in primary school.
It applies not only for school or training, but also in adult education and is based on a new image of man. In the center is no longer the adjustment of the individual to a particular practice, in certain values. Important today is to develop to the greatest possible autonomy of the individual in work and private life, communication and as a citizen, as a citizen. Under this new image of man we are a life long road to get ready to old age. The changes in the workplace is challenging us to face the test of time and learn for life. The pedagogy of
is no longer based on a clear distribution of knowledge and ignorance. Teachers have more experience in certain areas than the students, in others it may be vice versa. It is no longer embarrassed when a teacher fooled students. Whenever classes are held, whether in school or in adult education, it is the goal, the participants provide a conducive learning environment to enable them to develop their skills as best as possible. With this view, one would today's teacher the students to express a compliment for their cleverness.
